Not every risk is visible.
Some don’t bleed.

Some don’t show up on reports.
Ego is one of them.
When responders prioritize control over collaboration:
- Information is lost
- Help is rejected
- Time is wasted
And it happens more often than people admit.
Ego shows up as:
“I’ve got it.”
“Step back.”
“I know what I’m doing.”
Maybe they do.
Maybe they don’t.
But refusing input is not strength—it’s vulnerability.
The best responders are not the loudest.
They are the most aware.
Because ego doesn’t save lives.
