The Good Samaritan Misunderstood

Many responders misunderstand the Good Samaritan Act.

It does not:

  • Encourage interference
  • Replace trained care

But it does:

  • Protect those who act in good faith
  • Encourage immediate help
  • Support early intervention

When responders dismiss Good Samaritans outright, they send a message:
“Don’t help next time.”

And that’s dangerous.

Because without early action:

  • Outcomes worsen
  • Time is lost
  • Survival rates drop

The law exists for a reason.

Respect it.
Understand it.
Work with it.
