Not everything is covered in training.
And it shows.
What’s often missing:
- Real-world communication
- Working with civilians
- Managing volunteers
- Adapting to unpredictable scenes
Training builds skill.
Experience builds awareness.
But if training ignores reality, responders are left unprepared for what actually happens.
Scenes are not controlled environments.
They are messy.
Human.
Unpredictable.
Training needs to reflect that.
Because the gap between training and reality is where mistakes happen.
